Families are invited to join a park educator to read a new children's book each weekend, with pages projected onto the screen. The 2026 theme is America: 250 Years of Change-Makers in commemoration of 250 years of American history. Guests can participate in a related activity or adventure following the reading.
Recommended for families with children ages 4-10. No registration or tickets necessary.

The Gettysburg Foundation is pleased to partner with Gettysburg National Military Park to record and make available this popular lecture series on our YouTube channel.

Join tintype photographer Todd Welsh in the side yard of the children's history museum to experience how photography was practiced during the Civil War era. Watch the process unfold and have your likeness captured as it would have been in the 1860s.
Welcome living historians for Reenactor Appreciation Weekend 2026 in Gettysburg! Reenactors, visitors to Gettysburg and members of the local community are welcome to enjoy this interactive and memorable demonstration of vintage tintype photography.
3rd Annual Easter Egg Roll

In 1953, after a hiatus during World War II, Dwight and Mamie Eisenhower brought the beloved Easter Egg Roll tradition back to the South Lawn of the White House.
To commemorate the original Eisenhower Easter Egg Roll, young visitors and their families are invited to engage in fun-filled activities and learn about Eisenhower family Easter traditions. Kids can decorate their own wooden egg and take part in an egg roll on the lawn of the Eisenhower home here in Gettysburg.
The event is made possible through Eisenhower National Historic Site's continued partnership with the Gettysburg Foundation.
