Gettysburg Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy of our visitors. Because your privacy is important, Gettysburg Foundation voluntarily provides a higher standard of privacy and data rights then currently required for non-profit organizations.

When you register

You may use the Gettysburg Foundation Website without registering or submitting any identifiable information. However, registration in enables you to maintain your contact information and sign up for exclusive online features and ease of checkout.

If you choose to register, you will be asked to provide personal information that may include a username and password, your name, email address, postal address and telephone number. We store this information, along with your other preferences, on a secure server so that you need not re-enter it when you return to the website. You may review or change your account information at GettysburgFoundation.org at any time.

When you purchase a membership or make a donation

The Foundation will ask you to provide personal information that is necessary to process and service your donation or membership online, which may include your name, billing and shipping addresses, telephone number, email address, and credit card number. Your credit card information will be temporarily stored on a secure server and used only for processing your online transaction. We will retain the information you provided for our records, and to facilitate customer service.

We may share the names and postal addresses we receive from Friends and donors with other organizations for marketing purposes. If you do not want to have your information used in this way, you can elect to opt-out of this information sharing by clicking the “Exercise your data rights” button at the bottom of the page, selecting the “Exercise your data rights” option, and submitting the form with your request to not share your information with other organizations.

We may also share such information with third-party vendors who help us analyze and understand our donor and membership base.

When you purchase tickets to an event

The Foundation will ask you to provide personal information necessary to fulfill your online ticket order, which may include your name, billing and shipping addresses, telephone number, and credit card number. This is the same information requested when you place a ticket order by telephone or in person at the Museum & Visitor Center. For online, in-person and email ticket orders, we also require your email address so that you can receive order, shipping, event or other transaction-related emails, and so that we can communicate with you if we have difficulty processing your ticket order or request. When you purchase tickets, your credit card information will be temporarily stored on a secure server, and we will retain the personal information you provided with your order for our records, to facilitate customer service, and to inform you of Foundation-related programs and offerings.

When you purchase tickets, we may share the information you provide, such as your name and your postal address, with other reputable organizations and companies whose programs and services might interest you. Please note that the privacy policies of these organizations and companies may differ from ours. Children Under Thirteen Years of Age

Gettysburg Foundation does not intend to collect personal information from children under age 13 without permission of the child’s parent or legal guardian. We may ask parents or guardians for names and ages of children when purchasing tickets, family memberships or philanthropic donations. We do not provide any personal information to any third party about our on-line visitors who indicate they are under 13 years of age.

On-line visitors under 13 years of age should not submit personal information to us without the explicit permission from their parent or legal guardian. If your child has submitted personal information and you would like to request that such information be removed from our system, please fill out this form and we will use reasonable efforts to comply with your request.


Photo/Video Policy Within the Museum & Visitor Center

Each guest entering The Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center, George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital, Children of Gettysburg 1863, Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad Station or other Gettysburg Foundation properties, grants the Gettysburg Foundation permission to photograph, videotape, record or otherwise reproduce the image and/or voice of that guest and all accompanying minors, without compensation, for the Foundation's business purposes, including broadcast, publication, copying, distribution and other uses.

Guests may contact on-site staff if they choose to opt out of participation in photos and videos.
