Eisenhower National Historic Site to Host Easter Egg Roll

Mar 19, 2025

Eisenhower National Historic Site will host its second annual Easter Egg Roll event Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Easter Egg Roll

The Eisenhowers brought this beloved event back to the South Lawn of the White House in 1953 after a long suspension due to World War II and continued food rationing.

Now in its second year, park staff, in the spirit and tradition of the original Eisenhower Presidential Easter Egg Roll, encourage young visitors and families to engage in a series of fun-filled activities, including decorating their own wooding egg, then culminating in an Easter Egg Roll on the lawn of the Eisenhower home in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Visitors can learn about Eisenhower family Easter traditions at the White House and how they enjoyed time with their children and grandchildren. Additionally, the Eisenhower home will be open for open-house style tours.woman reads to children sitting on lawn blankets

This special event is made possible through Eisenhower National Historic Site's continued partnership with the Gettysburg Foundation, and with the assistance of Destination Gettysburg, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Society and the Adams County Library. The event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available on site.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Monday April 21, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. An announcement will be made on Thursday, April 17, if the event will need to be rescheduled. More information can be found at www.nps.gov/eise.
