Community Giving this Holiday Season

Dec 20, 2023

The Gettysburg Foundation is pleased to keep the tradition of giving to our local community during the holiday season.

Staff members and volunteers of the Gettysburg Foundation spent Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, ringing the bell at Walmart in Gettysburg, as part of The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign that benefits those in need in Adams County, Pennsylvania.

The Foundation staff participated in a drive for a wish list of items supporting local families at the South Central Community Action Program (SCCAP) Adams County Homeless Shelter and donated items to the Gettysburg Community Soup Kitchen. In support of area children, the Foundation staff provided books and coloring books to HeadStart. And for our furry friends and local animal rescue organizations, the Foundation staff donated items to the Adams County SPCA and Forever Love Rescue.

The Gettysburg Foundation staff and volunteers are always glad to support our local community and are pleased to add the Gettysburg Community Soup Kitchen and HeadStart for this year’s holiday giving. The Foundation has worked with The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign the past five holiday seasons. This holiday season marks the sixth year the Foundation's drive has benefitted the Adams County SPCA, our seventh season benefitting SCCAP and our second year providing items to Forever Love Rescue in Gettysburg.
