Children of Gettysburg 1863® to Begin Spring, Summer & Fall Hours

Children of Gettysburg 1863®, the interactive children’s history museum, will begin spring, summer and fall hours Saturday, April 1, 2023. The interactive children’s history museum in the historic Rupp House will be open daily, 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Museum adventures will begin every 30 minutes from 10 a.m., and the last museum adventure of the day will begin at 6:30 p.m. Hours are subject to change. The children’s history museum is a family-friendly adventure that tells the engaging stories and experiences of children, teens and young adults who lived in the town of Gettysburg and the surrounding area during and after the Battle of Gettysburg. Designed for families and children, grades K-5, the interactive museum adventure takes families on a journey through galleries with interactive exhibits and experiences. Families and visitors to Children of Gettysburg 1863® have the opportunity to experience engaging first-hand accounts from numerous young residents from 1863 featured throughout the museum, including William Bayly, Albertus McCreary, Sadie Bushman, Tillie Pierce and others. Special events, living history and educational programming take place on select dates throughout the year.

Located at 451 Baltimore Street in downtown Gettysburg, the spring through fall hours for Children of Gettysburg 1863® will be in effect through Oct. 14, 2023.  Admission tickets are currently free for children/youth ages 12 and younger when accompanied by a ticketed adult.
