GivingTuesday is Nov. 29, 2022.
Created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good, GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. Giving Tuesday is observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving each year.
This GivingTuesday, the Gettysburg Foundation is asking you to help us support the education mission of our partner Gettysburg National Military Park and the Traveling Trunks program. Your help will continue and grow this important educational resource for students in history classrooms nationwide for years to come.
Not every classroom has the opportunity or resources to visit Gettysburg on a field trip. But thanks to you, more students will soon learn the history and stories of the Battle of Gettysburg and the American Civil War through the Traveling Trunks program.
We are on a mission to raise $25,000 this GivingTuesday to provide funds to cover the shipping to/from classrooms across the country, to replace activity items that get worn from use and to add new trunks filled with activities and lesson plans to reach even more classrooms each school year. Your support will help continue and grow the Traveling Trunks program to send trunks full of history to classrooms across the country to tell the story of the 1863 battle and the American Civil War to students who may never have a chance to visit and experience the lessons of Gettysburg.
Be part of history. Help us #TravelTheTrunks this #GivingTuesday.
