Support Children of Gettysburg 1863 through the Adams County Community Foundation’s Giving Spree

October 10, 2022

The Gettysburg Foundation is pleased to participate in the Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022. Donations the Gettysburg Foundation receives through the Giving Spree will benefit educational efforts at Children of Gettysburg 1863, the interactive children’s history museum located at 451 Baltimore Street in downtown Gettysburg.

Best known as Adams County's Day of Giving, the annual Giving Spree provides the entire Adams County community the opportunity to come together in celebration and support of local nonprofits. Last year’s Giving Spree raised over $3 million for great causes in Adams County.

Designed for families and groups with children in grades K-5, Children of Gettysburg 1863 tells the engaging stories of children, teens and young adults who lived in and near Gettysburg during the 1863 battle, through six galleries with interactive exhibits. In addition to the museum adventure, family-friendly programming is offered on select dates throughout the year. The Gettysburg Foundation encourages and invites Friends of Gettysburg and all members of our community to support Children of Gettysburg 1863 by donating to the Foundation through the Giving Spree.

Children of Gettysburg 1863 will host a Giving Spree open house on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, from 3 until 5 p.m. The community is invited to attend and learn more about the Gettysburg Foundation’s interactive adventure for young historians.

Giving Spree donors have three options to support Children of Gettysburg 1863 and other Adams County nonprofits:

  • Drop off gifts at the Gettysburg Times on Nov. 3 from 1 until 5 p.m.
  • Mail gifts with the donation form (mail by Oct. 29).
  • Give online at ACCFGivingSpree.org on Nov. 3.

Donors can identify the Gettysburg Foundation as the recipient of their donation by using code number 40 on the donation form.

The Gettysburg Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree alongside other nonprofit organizations in our community.
