Children of Gettysburg 1863 Hosts the Carlisle Brass Band in Concert

July 27, 2022

The Gettysburg Foundation will host the Carlisle Brass Band in concert at Gettysburg’s new interactive children’s history museum, Children of Gettysburg 1863, Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, from 3 until 4 p.m. The band will perform brass band music in concert and share a repertoire of marches and patriotic selections.

The Carlisle Brass Band plays all-brass music in the British tradition of brass bands. The 30-member ensemble, directed by Bernie Pitkin, is part of the Carlisle Town Band organization, based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The band has been performing music continuously since 1900.
