The Gettysburg Foundation announced today that it is partnering with Foursquare Church in Gettysburg to provide face coverings in the Adams County community.

The Ford Motor Company Fund provided the Gettysburg Foundation with 100,000 medical-grade masks produced by Ford Motor Company. Ford Motor Company’s mask production is part of its #FinishStrong initiative – encouraging Americans to pull together and protect each other to help save lives in the months ahead until COVID-19 vaccines become more widely available.

The Gettysburg Foundation is providing the masks to local charitable organizations, schools and those in need, as well as sharing as needed with guests to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center and its staff.

“We are pleased to help residents stay safe with proper face coverings during the pandemic,” said David Malgee, Gettysburg Foundation interim president. “We appreciate the Ford Motor Company Fund’s generosity in partnering with us on this community effort. We appreciate Foursquare Church collaborating with us to accomplish the service of distributing the masks within our community,” added Malgee.

The Gettysburg Foundation is partnering with Foursquare Church and its ‘Love Gettysburg’ program to assist with the distribution of the masks. Pastor Mark Chester said, “Foursquare is proud to be working alongside the Gettysburg Foundation to distribute masks in our local community. ‘Love Gettysburg’ is an initiative at Foursquare where we seek to support local organizations that are helping those in need by providing resources or volunteers. We are grateful for the generosity of the Ford Motor Company Fund to supply the masks and privileged to partner with the Gettysburg Foundation and support their commitment to our local community. We sincerely hope this simple way of helping others will remind us to continue to ‘love our neighbors’ during these difficult times.”

The medical-grade masks will begin to be distributed within the community starting the week of Feb. 22, 2021. Agencies, organizations and non-profits in need of masks are welcome to contact Dan Tapper at Foursquare Church to be included in the distribution. Tapper can be reached at dan@foursquarechurch.info or 717-334-5410.
