GivingTuesday 2020: A Heartfelt Thank You for Donations
December 2, 2020
The Gettysburg Foundation joined organizations worldwide on GivingTuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, a global day of giving. The Foundation’s campaign initiative raised funds to give back to Gettysburg, as Gettysburg gives so much to all of us – inspiration, perspective and memories.

Thanks to the contributions of so many people, and a generous $5,000 matching grant from Friends of Gettysburg members Dave and Shelly Wilkins, the Foundation surpassed its $20,000 goal. As final gifts came in from Facebook, the Foundation received more than $22,000 in campaign #Give2Gett donations.
“We are thankful for the outstanding support of our Friends and contributors this GivingTuesday,” said Gettysburg Foundation interim president David Malgee. “The expression of support yesterday is an inspiring story of so many coming together in generosity and kindness to give back to this inspiring place,” added Malgee.

GivingTuesday donations will help us preserve the battlefield, educate present and future generations about the significance of the Battle of Gettysburg and continue offering inspirational experiences and programming at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center.
