Viewing the Gettysburg Cyclorama in a Different Light
January 31, 2020
On Monday, Feb. 24 and Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, visitors to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center have a unique opportunity to see the Gettysburg Cyclorama painting in a different light.

Different from the traditional experience of the light and sound show in which visitors feel the fury of Pickett’s Charge depicted in the Cyclorama painting, the special “lights up” program will feature a talk while in full light of the painting. Visitors can see a very different view of the historic painting with the lights up, and gain an understanding of the history and scenes depicted in the painting with the opportunity for questions and answers.

The Gettysburg Cyclorama is scheduled to undergo its annual preventative maintenance and cleaning to maintain the operating system requirements during this time. The maintenance will help sustain the program for future generations to experience.
The Cyclorama had undergone upgrades to the hardware and software that controls the lighting show for the Cyclorama in Jan. 2020.

Visitors can purchase tickets for the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience that includes the special lights up program Feb. 24-25. The Cyclorama maintenance is planned to be completed, and the traditional Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience will be available again on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020.
