David Wills House Opens the 2020 Season - TEMPORARILY CLOSED

February 17, 2020

TEMPORARILY CLOSED THROUGH April 12, 2020

On March 1, 2020, the David Wills House begins the 2020 season. Visit GettysburgFoundation.org to purchase tickets and for details on the David Wills House hours throughout the year.

The David Wills House is best known as the home where local resident and attorney David Wills hosted President Abraham Lincoln prior to delivering the Gettysburg Address. In the days and months following the Battle of Gettysburg, Wills managed the immense task of providing proper burials for the fallen soldiers and began planning for the Gettysburg Soldiers’ National Cemetery, which was dedicated Nov. 19, 1863 during Lincoln’s Gettysburg visit.

With historic rooms restored to their 1863 appearance, today’s David Wills House features an interactive National Park Service museum relating the story of Wills, Lincoln’s visit and the Gettysburg Address.

Visit GettysburgFoundation.org to purchase tickets to tour the David Wills House.
