This holiday season, the Gettysburg Foundation staff collected gifts for both two- and four-legged members of the community. Staff members purchased gifts and gave cash donations to the South Central Community Action Programs (SCCAP), which assists local displaced families, and the Adams County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
SCCAP sent the names of children in the shelter and their Christmas wish lists to the Foundation. The Foundation included the children’s names on ornaments displayed for staff members to take and fulfill a child’s Christmas wish. Gettysburg Foundation staff members provided gifts for every ornament. SCCAP plans to distribute the presents to the families for the holidays.
The Foundation also collected gifts and donations for the Adams County SPCA for items needed at the local shelter.
The Gettysburg Foundation distributed the gifts to SCCAP and the Adams County SPCA on Dec. 18. This is the fourth holiday season the Gettysburg Foundation Christmas collection has benefitted SCCAP and the third season benefitting the Adams County SPCA.
