Your Friends of Gettysburg membership benefits include:

REMEMBER

In his Gettysburg Address, President Abraham Lincoln charged us with preserving the memory of the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg, remembering the brave men who fought here and realizing the high price we often pay to preserve our democracy.

Through special events, projects, donations, memberships and volunteer efforts, the Friends of Gettysburg are the heart of the Gettysburg Foundation, helping to uphold the memory and the legacy of Gettysburg to ensure that we "never forget what they did here."

PRESERVE

Through the efforts of the Friends, visitors can experience the battlefield much like it was in 1863. Throughout Gettysburg National Military Park, utility lines have been buried, out-of-place modern buildings removed and overgrown vegetation restrained. Today, we have an authentic, 6,000-acre landscape of restored monuments, fences and historic structures.

There is still more to accomplish. With your help, we can continue preserving the authentic, robust battlefield for students, historians, families and visitors for generations to come.

EDUCATE

The efforts of the Gettysburg Foundation, with the support of the Friends, provide visitors opportunities to learn the lessons of Gettysburg. As part of our mission, we focus on educating the public about the significance of Gettysburg. We support, extend and enhance Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historical Site's educational message, and our historic sites and experiences. We are committed to engaging and attracting a diverse visitor demographic and telling stories that highlight the importance and significance of Gettysburg in innovative and compelling ways.
