Continuing a tradition of the popular Sacred Trust Talks & Book Signings series, renowned authors, historians and National Park Service Rangers will present talks on the American Civil War and its cultural impacts, leadership lessons, true stories and myths, and elements of those historical events still relevant today.
Free public tickets are required for evening talks in the Kinsley Theater.
Artifacts, documents and works of art from the collections of Gettysburg National Military Park and the Civil War Museum of Philadelphia, offer a window into the lives, experiences and memories of those who struggled, suffered and survived a century and a half ago.
The new exhibit includes some artifacts never-before-seen on display.
The three-day Battle of Gettysburg marked a turning point not only in the course of the American Civil War, but also for the future of the United States of America. Join National Park Service Rangers during the 159th Anniversary for a series of free guided walks and talks to explore and reflect on this important chapter in our nation’s history.

Walk the grounds, hear the stories and feel the emotions at this once thriving family farm suddenly transformed into a Civil War field hospital.
Meticulously renovated, the historic site features restored, original buildings from the 1863 battle to inspire and explore the best surviving example of a corps-level field hospital used during the Battle of Gettysburg.
Interact with living historians and docents to gain insight and hear accounts of experiences on the farm in July 1863.
Join us on the Cyclorama platform for an exclusive after-hours, close-up look at the Gettysburg Cyclorama painting.
Enjoy additional time on the viewing platform to observe in full light the remarkable, close-up details and distant battle scenes of the painting. Journey under the diorama to see how the illusion comes to life. There will be time for a question and answer session.
Living History Encampment: Interact with living historians of Officers for the Union & Ladies for the Union with encampments in the museum's side yard from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Candlelight Talk: Join Officers for the Union in their candle lit encampment from 8 to 9 p.m. on Saturday for an informal talk on their role during and after the Battle of Gettysburg.
The weekend living history events are free and open to the public.
Sensational summer views and spectacular scenery await you on your afternoon battlefield tour aboard a double decker bus. With a 360-degree view of the battlefield, you will gain a new perspective of the battle as your Licensed Battlefield Guide provides the narrative for this unique, insightful and visually stunning tour.
Limited to one tour each Saturday in July 2022 and Sunday, July 3, Double Deck Bus Tours depart the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center at 4 p.m.
Living historian Eileen Hoover presents Courtyard Stories: The Children of Gettysburg, 1863.
Hear first-hand accounts of some of the children of Gettysburg in 1863. You will learn more about Tillie Pierce, Albertus McCreary, Anna Garlach, Julia and Henry Jacobs, and Jennie Wade.
Courtyard Stories are free and open to the public.
Tickets are required for the children's history museum adventure. Children/Youth (ages 0-12) free with purchase of an adult (ages 13+) ticket.
Join us for a relaxing storytime in your pajamas around the campfire. Stories will be read and campfire songs will be sung at this outdoor event. Siblings and stuffed animals are welcome to attend.
In the event of inclement weather, storytime will be held inside. The event is free and open to the public.
The children's history museum is open prior to the event. Tickets are free for children/youth ages 0-12 with a ticketed adult.
Children/youth ages 8-12 with mothers/caregivers are invited to experience an in-depth introduction and create historical fiber arts during the summer season.
Historical fiber art creation includes multiple sessions to learn and create your own work of fiber art. Choose sessions in hand quilting, embroidery, beading and sewing fabric dolls.
Space is limited and free registrations are accepted first-come, first-served.

Shuttles depart the Gettysburg National Military Park useum & Visitor Center hourly starting at 9:30 a.m. with the last shuttle at 3:30 p.m. Timed shuttle tickets required.

Inspired by the life and career of General and 34th President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Eisenhower Exhibit Spotlight is located in the Museum Lobby at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center.
The introductory exhibit is available for visitors to enjoy at no charge.
