Our Mission 

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit philanthropic, educational organization that operates in partnership with the National Park Service to preserve Gettysburg National Military Park and the Eisenhower National Historic Site, and to educate the public about their significance.

Together with the National Park Service, we seek to preserve and protect the resources associated with the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg and share its important story of conflict, courage and remembrance.

The Gettysburg Foundation is a community of professionals, volunteers, philanthropists and Friends dedicated to:  

  • Acquiring and preserving the authentic battlefield lands, buildings and artifacts. 
  • Improving the visitor experience.

My kids are 7 and 9 and absolutely loved this place. They learned so much. The staff was wonderful, and the hands on activities and stories of kids living through the war made everything come to life for them. We spent 2 hours there, and they are already asking to go back
