Evening Programs at the George Spangler Farm Civil War Hospital Site, June 6 - August 14, 2014
The George Spangler Farm Civil War Hospital Site is one of the most intact Civil War field hospitals used during the battle of Gettysburg. During and after the battle the Spangler family’s homestead was occupied by the Union army’s Eleventh Corps who used the buildings and fields as a hospital for some 1,900 wounded Union and Confederate soldiers.
The Gettysburg Foundation is offering several evening programs at the George Spangler Farm:

Hear the true, untold stories of the many wounded soldiers, the hardships of those who treated them and the struggles of the George Spangler family as their home was transformed into a field hospital.

Echoes of History
at the George Spangler Farm
Saturday Nights 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Venture into the night with a living historian for a candlelight program on the farm. Experience the extraordinary stories of the men and women who endured the ordeals of a Civil War field hospital.
Adults: $20 │ Youth 6-12: $8 │ Under 5: Free
The Spangler Farm is accessible by shuttle bus only from the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center located at 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg.
