John Scott Adams Seminar, July 19 and July 26, 2014

The Gettysburg Foundation announces the John Scott Adams Seminar to be offered July 19 with a repeat program on July 26, 2014, featuring Licensed Battlefield Guide Ralph Siegel as he discusses When Yankees Attack: Rare Offensive Actions by the Union at Gettysburg.

An Adams Seminar is a full-day program consisting of a half-day indoor lecture and a
half-day battlefield tour. Program begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Ford Education Center Classroom of the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center.

The classroom seminar will review regimental actions, from the 6th Wisconsin’s charge on the Railroad Cut to the 14th Connecticut’s attack on the Bliss farm. The afternoon field tour will focus on two of the bloodiest offensive actions: the suicide charges of the 2nd Massachusetts and the 1st Minnesota. The afternoon tour is a moderate hike with rocky, uneven fields.

Registration deadline is July 4, 2014. Open to Friends of Gettysburg members and non-members, the cost is $70 members and $95 non-members.  Optional boxed lunches are available for pre-order at $12 each.
