The Gettysburg Address Educators' Conference-
August 12th-13th, 2013
The Gettysburg Foundation and Gettysburg National Military Park are glad to announce the new educators’ conference to be presented on August 12 and 13, 2013 marking the 150th anniversary year of one of the most pivotal speeches in American history – The Gettysburg Address.
Lincoln’s classic oration provides classroom teachers with a wealth of innovative opportunities that pair perfectly with the middle school curriculum. Focusing on the Common Core Standards, Gettysburg National Military Park Education Specialist Barbara Sanders and Drs. Anthony D. Fredericks and Michael R. McGough will demonstrate, and invite you to participate in, dozens of teaching strategies proven successful in grades 5-8.
Educators will leave The Gettysburg Address Educators’ Conference with new techniques, an extensive resource book to help you implement these valuable ideas in your own classroom and renewed enthusiasm from studying on the fields of Gettysburg and Soldiers’ National Cemetery site of The Gettysburg Address.
