Title: Membership and Development Intern
Supervisor: Membership and Development Operations Manager
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Membership and Development Intern will assist the department in Non-Profit Management, Development and Fundraising.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in preparation of proposals to companies and foundations
- Learn the details of membership recruitment through direct mail and visitor
- interaction
- Maintain the database, including creating and updating records and performing data entry functions.
- Perform research on current and potential funding sources
- Participate in meetings and compile information for development staff about prospects
- Assist in the planning and implementation of member and special events
- May work on Membership Board of Director committee with the Department head
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in an accredited college program and have completed sophomore year
- Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Enrolled in non-profit management or a related major
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Interest in learning the details of fundraising for national battlefield preservation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Database experience or accounting experience a plus
