Museum & Visitor Center

Your Gettysburg experience begins here.

Once you’ve arrived in Gettysburg, the Museum and Visitor Center at Gettysburg National Military Park is the best place to start your visit. Located at 1195 Baltimore Pike, just south of historic downtown Gettysburg, the Museum and Visitor Center features the exclusive Cyclorama, Film and Museum Experience. Combined, they provide an overview and excellent introduction to the Battle of Gettysburg and will prepare you for a Gettysburg battlefield tour.

The Cyclorama, Film and Museum Experience includes the film A New Birth of Freedom, narrated by Morgan Freeman and sponsored by The History Channel; the Cyclorama, the nation’s largest painting, which places visitors in the fury of Pickett’s Charge; and the Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War, with 12 exhibit galleries featuring Gettysburg National Military Park artifacts and interactive displays. Tickets for the Cyclorama, Film and Museum Experience can be purchased online at our Gettysburg Tickets Page, by calling 877-874-2478 and at the ticket counter in the lobby of the Museum and Visitor Center.

Experience National Park Service Ranger Programs

The Museum and Visitor Center also provides schedules and information on a variety of National Park Service Ranger-led programs at the Information Desk in the lobby. These programs are offered throughout the year and listed in our Gettysburg events calendar.

Eisenhower National Historic Site and David Wills House

The Museum and Visitor Center also sells tickets for two other National Park Service sites in the area: the Eisenhower National Historic Site, President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Gettysburg home; and the David Wills House in downtown Gettysburg, where Lincoln stayed the night before giving The Gettysburg Address.

Proceeds from all purchases in the Museum and Visitor Center — including tickets to the Cyclorama, Film and Museum Experience — benefit battlefield preservation.
